Join us for a Passive, Low-Energy and Sustainable Design Workshop Sponsored by the Commercial Sustainable Development program
on behalf of the Southern California Gas Company
Workshop Presenters include :
Kotaro Nakamura (RNT Architects) and Jeff Staller (TRC Energy Services)
Workshop Description: This workshop is directed at practicing design professionals, emerging professionals, and recent graduates to supplement their knowledge of passive, low-energy and sustainable design goals, methods, metrics, and impacts on commercial buildings. The workshop is focused on the concepts, strategies, and examples of passive design to minimize heating and cooling loads and on low-energy HVAC design for commercial buildings. Presenters will demonstrate calculations, metrics and analysis tools to analyze climate conditions and perform whole building energy analysis.
Workshop topics include:
- Overview of the Commercial Sustainable Development Program
- Passive energy design concepts, strategies, and tools
- Low energy HVAC design concepts, strategies, and tools
- Integrated design principles to achieve passive, low-energy and sustainable designs
