AEP Institute – SB743 Vehicle Miles Traveled Primary Metric
August 4, 2017 from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
County of Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority Board Room, 1 Gateway Plaza, 3rd Floor, Los Angeles
On Friday, August 4th, the Association of Environmental Professionals will be hosting the AEP 2017 Institute, “CEQA Guidelines – SB743 Vehicle Miles Traveled Primary Metric.”
Senate Bill 743 was signed in 2013, requiring a move away from vehicle delay and level of service to transportation analysis pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act. It also requires the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research to identify new metrics for identifying and mitigating transportation impacts. The Office of Planning and Research identified Vehicle Miles Traveled per capita and Vehicle Miles Traveled per employee as the new metrics for transportation analysis.
This one-day symposium will bring together experts, representing diverse stakeholders, in a facilitated dialogue about:
- Integration of SB 743 into the CEQA Guidelines
- Regional, County, and Local Perspectives on Implementing SB 743
- Evaluation of Alternative Methods for Transportation Analysis
- Desired Outcomes
Featured Keynote Panelists include Adam Gromis, Public Policy Manager for Sustainability & the Environment at Uber and Ken Alex, Director, Governor’s Office of Planning & Research. Additionally, we will be hosting a networking hour at historic Union Station’s Traxx Bar and Restaurant immediately after the event for you to interact with fellow attendees as well as panelists from the Institute.
