Job Description
EA is seeking a Marketing and Business Development Manager to maintain the firm’s public profile continue to expand our reach with key audiences and coordinate business development activities. The right candidate will have the opportunity to take on significant leadership in our dynamic and growing firm. The Marketing and Business Development Manager will work independently and as part of a team to expand the firm’s network in key sectors, while securing work that advances our mission. The Marketing and Business Development Manager will be guided and supervised by Principals and the CEO.
Specific duties for the Marketing and Business Development Manager position include:
Marketing
- Develop and implement a marketing plan in collaboration with firm leadership and staff to advance the firm’s business and impact goals
- Develop and maintain a cohesive slate of digital tools to support the marketing plan
- Support and manage the implementation of the firm’s CRM, including the maintenance of lists and tracking of metrics to increase engagement with contacts
- Craft email blasts, announcements, and other communication to clients and other contacts
- Manage and create content for the firm’s social media accounts, including Twitter and LinkedIn
- Maintain and update the firm’s website
- Stay current on evolving trends in urban planning, equitable economic development, and other policy areas of interest to the firm
- As needed, manage subcontractors, contracts, and marketing-related projects
- Provide quality assurance / quality control on all work products
Business Development
- Collaborate with staff and firm leadership to craft creative and compelling proposals in response to RFPs – cover letters, scopes, qualifications, schedule, and fee as needed
- Identify opportunities for the firm to expand in key sectors and geographies
- Cultivate relationships with former, current, and prospective clients
- Organize in-person and/or virtual events to showcase the work of the firm and our partners
- Provide quality assurance / quality control on all work products
Required Experience / Skills / Education
Candidates must have at least 5 years’ experience in marketing and communications, as well as familiarity with one or more of the following fields:

- Real Estate Development
- Housing & Homelessness Policy
- Economic Development
- Climate & Environmental Policy
- Sustainable Development
- Public Policy
- Transportation Planning
- Workforce Development
- Racial Equity
Candidates are required to have completed a Bachelor’s Degree. A Master’s Degree is preferred, but not required. Lived experience, work background, and cultural competency with communities of color strongly preferred. Fluency in Spanish or another language is a plus.
