Will Consider Transportation Planner
Under the supervision of the District 4 Community Planning Branch Chief, the Associate Transportation Planner works on a team providing journey-level support on difficult and complex planning tasks, assisting in a lead worker role the Senior Climate Change Planning Specialist as one of the focal points for the Climate Change Planning Program for District 4. Supports District implementation of federal climate change programs, including those established by the Federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), as well as programs established by the State Legislature on climate change adaptation. The IIJA programs include, but are not limited to, the PROTECT Program and Carbon Reduction Program. Provides journey-level and lead worker support of District efforts to identify climate change concepts and adaptation measures for project development and capital project delivery. Independently develops, coordinates and implements climate change policy into transportation decision making. Coordinates complex climate change planning activities across all appropriate functional units; provides technical assistance identifying and supporting research and analysis of climate change and adaptation; identifies and provides outreach, education, and training on climate change issues relevant to the Department. Leads and supports the preparation of various planning studies and documents. The position requires excellent analytical, writing and communication skills. The position also requires a strong commitment to the Department’s strategic vision, mission, values, and goals, and to advancing equity through all efforts.
