Brian Garcia, PhD, AICP, is a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Urban Planning at the University of California Los Angeles. Brian’s work focuses on urban design, urban regeneration and climate adaptation through sustainable housing and transport solutions. Brian has held positions in teaching and research at the University of Hong Kong, Yale University and at University College London. Brian has worked internationally and domestically as an architect and urban designer on large residential developments. In Los Angeles, Brian has worked in design guidance at LA Metro and for the City of Los Angeles. Dr. Garcia studied for his PhD at University College London and holds graduate degrees in urban planning, architecture, and public art. He earned undergraduate degrees in art and architecture from the University of California at Berkeley.
