Planning Administration: Solving the Ethical Puzzle (1:00pm-2:30pm)

The administration of a planning office — whether in the private or public sector — can raise ethical questions. We’ll consider your role as a user of scarce planning resources, the ethical challenges you face, and guidance from the AICP Code of Ethics.

Instructor Carol Barrett, FAICP, has 30 years of planning experience and is currently the Assistant Community Development Director, Transportation & Planning, for the City of Burbank. Mrs. Barrett has been involved with APA Ethics policy since the 1980s, helped author the APA/AICP Statement of Ethical Principals in 1992, and was on the AICP Ethics Code Revision Committee in 2002. Mrs. Barrett is a frequent lecturer on ethics throughout California and around the country.
