APA YEPP PRESENTS: Torrance Brewery Talk & Tour

Join APA LA’s Young & Emerging Planning Professionals (YEPP) for a visit to two Torrance breweries! 

We’ll begin at Smog City Brewing, where representatives of Smog City and the City of Torrance will speak about their experiences in the planning, permitting, and environmental processes and Torrance’s evolution into a craft beer destination:

Laurie Porter, co-owner and sales heart of Smog City, fosters community relationships and builds Smog City’s presence and reputation. Laurie oversees Smog City Brewery’s sales, marketing and distribution. If Smog City is pouring, she’s probably not far away.

 Danny Santana is in his 14th year as a City Planner with the City of Torrance Community Development Department. He currently oversees the Current and Environmental Planning Division and is the lead planner on most things “Green.”  When not helping local craft breweries obtain their permits, he enjoys being an Adjunct Professor of Environmental Planning and Policy at LMU.

 After visiting Smog City, we’ll walk to Monkish Brewing for informal drinks and networking.
