Emphasis will be placed on development of California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) documents. The position includes deputy project management roles (management of team, scope, schedule, and budget) to support our Project Managers and Senior Project Managers in the delivery of our work products and contracts. Opportunities are available with a wide range (i.e., small to large) of CEQA and environmental projects with both private and public clients. Project types include urban infill and high-rise development, campus projects (including hospitals and studios), transportation, and planning/resiliency.

An ideal candidate must possess effective problem-solving ability, communication skills (both oral and written), and CEQA experience. ESA requires exceptional writing and editing capabilities of all our environmental planners and managers. Work products must be accurate, clear, and technically superior. The candidate must possess experience managing others, whether it be from within the environmental planning and/or A&E industry or through other experiences. These requirements include: experience organizing and motivating a team; accurate and effective communication with team members of various technical backgrounds and disciplines; and the ability to take responsibility for aspects of project, budget, and schedule performance, including performance of internal technical teams and subconsultants. Experience with CEQA is required. This role requires the initiative and confidence to uphold ESA’s strong work ethic and to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Experience working with private and public clients in a private consulting role is necessary. Qualified candidates will have at least a BA/BS in a related discipline and 5 to 8 years of experience. The position will be calibrated to a candidate’s level of experience.
