What would I do?
- Under appropriate guidance, take responsibility for the day to day completion of tasks
- Work in conjunction with senior staff and liaising with external sub-consultants where appropriate
- Undertake detailed technical, economic and geospatial analysis
- Perform macro and micro-economic research including industrial, demographic, financial and business analysis
- Develop greenhouse gas models and using MS Excel or other packages
- Conduct research on innovative technologies, policies and programs
- Create stakeholder engagement exercises and analyze qualitative outputs
- Participate in learning and development initiatives to build own capability and to ensure skills are disseminated in the team
- Help ensure the timely delivery of high quality reports, presentations and other client outputs
- Help ensure that rigorous analysis and outputs are produced for each project
Required Experience / Skills / Education
Qualifications
A working foundation in consulting, economic development, project management, environmental policy and/or urban planning
- Experience of a mix of work across different fields and exposure to an international environment will be viewed favorably
- A high level of proficiency in verbal and written English, with demonstrable report writing and drafting capability
- A high degree of numeracy and experience of using, interpreting and representing complex data including socio-economic and environmental data
- Some exposure to quantitative modelling and some familiarity with use of economic techniques
- Confident, proactive character, with a willingness to take on challenging assignments on a collaborative and individual basis
- Excellent research skills and the ability to synthesize and present information effectively
- Experience working in diverse teams, to tight deadlines and dealing with the competing needs of internal and external clients
- A strong personal interest in urban development and environmental policy, sustainable infrastructure and/or urban regeneration
- Excellent IT skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Strong drive to succeed, someone who continuously strives to take what they do to a higher level
- Working knowledge of a language in addition to English (such as Spanish or Chinese) would be advantageous
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering, Sustainability Management, Urban Planning or a related subject from an internationally recognized university, plus two years of related work experience
- Preferred Master’s degree or equivalent in urban planning, urban policy, engineering, real estate development or similar
