Role:

The Psomas Land Use Entitlements Team is seeking a full-time land use Planner for our Downtown Los Angeles Location. This person will provide land use and planning support for exciting development projects across Southern California, applying land use policies and best practices in the preparation of land use entitlements, design, and site planning with local government entities.

Responsibilities:

The Planner will perform preliminary zoning investigations and field studies. In addition, you will prepare and work in current planning, zoning, subdivision, and land use applications, including necessary findings, for projects in greater Los Angeles area.

Required Experience / Skills / Education

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Geography, Architecture, or related field.
  • A minimum of 1-year prior experience is required for an Assistant Planner, 3-5 years for a Planner and 5+ for a Senior Planner. (Title, job responsibilities and salary will be commensurate with your level of experience.)
  • Experience with writing findings for projects and assisting in presentations for public hearings
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of CEQA, Planning and Zoning laws, and the Subdivision Map Act
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office: Word, Excel and Power Point

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in planning
  • InDesign and other Adobe programs
