Under the general direction of a Supervising Transportation Engineer, the Senior Transportation Engineer is responsible for working with districts, cities, counties, transportation planning organization staff, other Headquarters units, and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to develop and implement the Office of Project Management Oversight Performance Measures Program. The Performance Measures Program includes developing and maintaining a project delivery database, identifying key performance indicators, assessing risk, assessing performance metrics, and monitoring performance goals. The program manager will be responsible for a management plan, creating dashboards and developing necessary communication tools for assisting Caltrans and local public agencies with project delivery and compliance with Caltrans policies and procedures and State and Federal regulations.
Required Experience / Skills / Education
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers. and Either I One year of transportation engineering experience in the California state service performing duties comparable to those of an associate level engineer or Transportation Engineer (Civil), Range D.
Or II
Broad and extensive (more than five years) transportation engineering experience, two years of which are equivalent in responsibility to that of an associate level engineer or Transportation Engineer (Civil), Range D, in the California state service.
