Job Description
Position Overview:
This internship is a temporary position to support the pursuit of long-term development and planning efforts for the Clean Mobility Equity Alliance. SUMC interns are responsible for a wide range of duties in a thoughtful, creative, fast-paced atmosphere. The position requires basic knowledge of Google Suite and Zoom, and strong research and planning, event coordination, meeting facilitation, and organizational and writing skills.
Responsibilities:
Intern responsibilities may include tasks around research and planning, resource development, communications, and event coordination and planning such as:
Research & Planning: Conducting online research on various topics to support resource development such as policy and bills related to clean mobility, funding opportunities and resources, and clean mobility events and activities. Contribute to other research efforts that support CMEA member interests.
Resource Development: Build out, help maintain and improve feedback and communication processes for CMEA resources that track policy and bills, funding resources and opportunities. Support the development of a map of CMEA members.
Event Coordination & Planning: Support with planning and coordination for the Clean Mobility Forum and CMEA events and meetings. Includes activities like outreach to speakers and sponsors, program design, and material development.
Network Development: Support efforts toward CMEA network development through researching transportation focused coalitions and networks, reaching out to internal and external stakeholders, developing materials that clarify network benefits, and developing strategies for membership expansion.
Meeting Support & Facilitation: Support CMEA meetings with agenda development, taking notes, zoom technical support, meeting facilitation, and meeting scheduling and coordination. Support development of internal resources for meeting facilitation, notetaking, and attendance tracking.
Communications: Support external communication efforts such as development of materials that highlight the success and benefits of CMEA and contribute to the CMEA newsletter. Support the redevelopment and redesign of the CMEA webpage.
In all of these areas, the intern will gain applicable experience and expertise they can add to their portfolio of work, as well experience working with teams in a digital/virtual environment.
Required Experience / Skills / Education
Qualifications:
Graduate students in Public Affairs, Public Policy, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Studies or Science, or related programs. Undergraduate juniors or seniors, current college students working toward an associate degree, and recent college graduates may also apply.
The intern should be a flexible team player who is adept at research, planning and writing and who is knowledgeable about transportation, environmental justice and social equity.
