Job Description
LA Metro’s Transit Oriented Communities unit is hiring!
We are seeking planners to support Metro’s Adjacent Development Review Team, which coordinates review of new development adjacent to Metro infrastructure. We are an innovative team that works at the intersection of land use planning, transit engineering, and urban design.
We are filling multiple positions for up to a 3-year term and are reviewing resumes for Transportation Planner (1+ years’ experience) up to Principal Transportation Planner (5+ years’ experience).
Position and salary offered will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Required Experience / Skills / Education
Ideal candidates will have:
Bachelor′s or Master’s Degree in Urban or Transportation Planning, Architecture, Urban Design, Engineering, Business, Public Administration, Public Policy, or a related field
Experience with municipal land use planning, entitlements and permits, and CEQA
Strong ability for reading and interpreting architectural plans
Excellent skills in project management, stakeholder engagement, and customer service
