Under the direction of the Chief, Office of Project Planning (OPP), the incumbent, as the supervisory Senior Transportation Planner for the Project Initiation Document (PID) Workload Management Branch, supervises a professional staff of Transportation Planners, Transportation Engineers, and Associate Governmental Program Analysts, and is responsible for the statewide development, review, analysis and implementation of policies, programs, directives, and guidance related to PIDs and other project scoping activities. This includes extensive coordination and interaction with districts and other HQ programs, to provide effective program direction and to strengthen the links between the transportation planning and programming processes.

Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Senior Transportation Planner Exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g. transfer, permissive reinstatement or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
