Will Consider Transportation Planner
Under the direction of a Senior Transportation Planner (Branch Chief), in the Office of Transit Grants and Contracts, the Associate Transportation Planner works on the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Grant Programs administered by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). To meet California’s public transportation needs, the FTA Section 5310 (Enhanced Mobility of Seniors & Individuals with Disabilities) program provides operating assistance, mobility management, and vehicle and equipment grants to non-profit organizations and public agencies to support mobility options for seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Associate Transportation Planner Exam
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g. transfer, permissive reinstatement or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
