Under the general direction of the Chief, Office of Environmental Compliance and Outreach, a Supervising Environmental Planner, the incumbent works in a non-supervisory capacity to assist in implementing Caltrans policies based on state and federal regulations; acts as an in-house expert for archaeological issues on complex transportation-related issues; and develops solutions to other issues as they relate to project delivery activities and stewardship responsibilities. The incumbent is responsible for taking the lead role in overseeing and coordinating with the Regions/Districts to consistently apply the Department’s Section 106 Programmatic Agreement (PA) as it relates to Local Assistance Project Delivery. Duties include management of contracts and Interagency Agreements, development and delivery of training, and outreach to internal and external partners.
