Transportation Planning Intern

Job Description

Our Monterey Park office is seeking a part-time Transportation Planning Intern to assist senior staff with transportation study projects. The position requires a person with strong analytical, writing, communications, and organizational skills to assist in the preparation of transportation planning studies including: safe routes to school, complete streets, active transportation, and traffic studies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, transportation related research, data collection, preparation of maps and graphics for community meetings and workshops, and transportation planning studies under the supervision of our senior transportation planning staff.

Required Experience / Skills / Education

Bachelor’s degree or currently working towards a four-year degree in Urban Planning, engineering, urban geography or related field, Master’s degree preferred; demonstration of strong communication skills and a strong work ethic; knowledge of Microsoft Office products, ArcGIS mapping software, and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop). Candidates must be fluent in spoken and written Spanish.
