Job Description
JKA is seeking a full-time Urban Designer with two to four years of experience with either an environmental design, architecture, and/or urban planning (urban design concentration) undergraduate or graduate degree.
Required Experience / Skills / Education
JKA is seeking qualified urban design applicants who demonstrate:
- Excellent and collaborative writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or similar
- Demonstrated ability with design software including Adobe Creative Suite programs (PS, AI, ID), CAD/Revit, SketchUp, ARCGIS Urban, and/or similar
- Familiarity and interest in zoning and form-based codes is preferred though not a requirement
- Long-term US work authorization only
- Ability to start work no later than February 2020
JKA works on a range of urban design projects as well as multi-family residential and commercial architecture projects. Urban design projects for public and private clients include master plans, specific plans with an urban design focus, design codes, standards and guidelines, design feasibility studies, and design review for both public and private clients.
