Job Description
As part of the City’s executive team, this position reports directly to the City Manager; plans, organizes, integrates and directs the work of the Community Development Department; with the City Manager, develops projects to attract, retain and grow economic development and investment in the City; provides expertise and guidance to management, the City Council, and the Planning and Preservation Commission, on planning, land use, design review and code enforcement issues, and solutions to meet the City’s strategic goals and business objectives; and performs related duties as assigned.
Required Experience / Skills / Education
Any combination equivalent to the following: Ten-year experience in municipal planning and/or building department that includes five years in a management capacity, is required. Bachelor’s degree in urban or regional planning, public administration, law or related field, is required, and a Master’s degree in planning, business administration or public administration is preferred.
