Included below is a partial list.
- Reviews land use proposals to ensure consistency with the General Plan, specific plans, overlay districts, and other citywide and neighborhood specific regulations
- Researches the Zoning Code, advising both planners and applicants on the appropriate steps that are necessary to further specific projects and/or planning initiatives
- Prepares written communication, including the drafting of Staff Reports for policy initiatives and Letters of Determination for project applications
- Prepares notices (e.g., e-blasts, mailings, etc.) to inform the community organizations, advisory groups, and other public agencies of upcoming meetings and hearings
- Answers call, questions, and emails from community and neighborhood organizations
Required Experience / Skills / Education
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in urban planning, urban studies, urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, geography, public administration, political science, environmental science, social ecology, economics, transportation planning, or historic preservation; or
Four years of full-time paid experience with the City of Los Angeles as a Planning Aide.
