Land Use Development Manager

Job Description

OC Public Works, Development Services is seeking a Land Use Development Manager to perform highly specialized interdisciplinary work to manage plan check contractors and to review plans. This unique position serves in a planning and project management capacity that shepherds projects through the development process from entitlements through the completion of construction.

Further, the position works closely with planned community developers, homebuilders, contractors, engineers and planners to ensure that new projects are in compliance with development agreements and applicable County standards and requirements, with an emphasis on the effective delivery of exceptional customer service.

Required Experience / Skills / Education

The ideal candidate will possess 3 years of planning experience in research, land use administration, infrastructure planning/development or in the development of social, physical, environmental or economic plans. A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in planning, community development, urban planning or a related field is preferred. As this position is responsible for report preparation and writing, excellent writing skills are required to be successful in this role.
