Job Description
THE POSITION:
Under direct supervision, the Planning intern will perform a variety of responsible administrative, technical and clerical duties in support of the Community Development Department’s Planning division.
This position will assist Planning staff performing a wide variety of duties including but not limited to; entry-level current and long-range planning activities; provide professional and technical support; assist with reviewing architectural plans for new residential construction; provide customer service; assist the public with inquires at the counter and over the phone; provide administrative support; assist with the new zoning code(s); draft letter reports and other materials; and perform special projects and assignments as requested. This is a part-time intern position.

Salary: $16.82 Hourly
Required Experience / Skills / Education
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicants must be a registered student (undergraduate or graduate) or a recent graduate (within the last 12 months) from an accredited university in a planning program or a related field.
- Applicants WILL need to submit proof of current school registration or proof of graduation in the last 12 months. Examples of documents of proof may include; Official Transcripts, Unofficial Transcripts, current schedule, degree earned, etc.
- Applicants should have a basic understanding of planning principles, and possess basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Must be at least 18 years of age at time of submitting employment application
- Possess a valid Identification Card or Driver’s License
