Job Description
There is currently two vacancies in the Community Development Department. One position will be be filled in the Planning Division and the other in the Housing & Economic Development Division.
The Community Development Department oversees the orderly growth of the community through implementation of the City’s General Plan, Zoning, and Building Regulation. The department is comprised of the Planning Division, Housing & Economic Development Division, Building and Safety Division and Code Enforcement Division.
CURRENT VACANCIES: The current vacancies are in the following areas:
Planning Division: Assist staff with day-to-day responsibilities pertaining to the public counter, site inspections, research projects, plan checks, and report preparation.
Housing & Economic Development Division: Assist staff with various tasks, including but not limited to: commercial property inventory searches, providing the public with information regarding business resources, website updates and assisting the public with general Economic Development related questions. Providing support to the Housing Rehabilitation Program, data entry in IDIS system, processing loan pay-offs and lien releases, processing subordination agreements.
Required Experience / Skills / Education
Education: Current enrollment in an accredited college or university in a program leading to a degree in City Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, or a related field. Recent graduates are welcome to apply. Preferred class standing: Junior, Senior, or Master’s student.
Experience: None required. General office and customer service experience is desirable. Bilingual skills are desirable.
