Job Description
Position Overview:
This internship is a temporary position to support the pursuit of long-term development and planning efforts for Clean Mobility Options and SUMC communications and storytelling efforts. SUMC interns are responsible for various duties in a thoughtful, creative, fast-paced atmosphere. The position requires basic knowledge of Google Suite and Zoom, strong research and planning, analytical thinking, summarizing skills, and Canva and Adobe Suite knowledge and strong organizational and writing skills.
Responsibilities:
Intern responsibilities may include tasks around research and planning, resource development, communications, and event coordination and planning, such as:
Content Development: Produce and post content CMO pilot projects and their advancement on different media types, including social media. Collaborate with the team, designing and developing materials/content highlighting the successes of CMEA.
Research & Planning: Review and adapt case studies and learning modules integrating the Clean Mobility Options awardees and the Learning Center.
Communication of SUMC projects: Support the project communications in coordination with Partnerships & Engagement by listening to the needs of emerging leaders (via research and communication opportunities) and identifying key SUMC stories and research to foster engagement. Support with design brainstorming, production, and video materials preparation.
In all these areas, the intern will gain applicable experience and expertise they can add to their portfolio of work, as well as experience working with teams in a digital/virtual environment.
Required Experience / Skills / Education
Qualifications:
Graduate students in Public Affairs, Public Policy, Public Administration, Communications, Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Studies or Science, or related programs. Undergraduate juniors or seniors, current college students working toward an associate degree, and recent college graduates may also apply.
The intern should be a flexible team player, adept at research, planning and writing and knowledgeable about transportation, environmental justice and social equity.
