About Raimi + Associates
Raimi + Associates (R+A) is a 25+ person multidisciplinary planning, policy, urban design, and applied research firm with offices in Berkeley and Los Angeles. The firm works on a wide array of urban design and planning projects including General Plans, area plans, master plans, and zoning codes in California, Hawaii and the Pacific Northwest. About the Position
R+A is hiring urban designers with 5+ years of experience and a background in architecture or urban design to work on a variety of projects including design standards, zoning codes, specific plans, and master plans. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of residential and mixed-use building types, building codes, and 3D modeling software.

Salary and Benefits
Based on their level of experience, the new hire will be either an Intermediate Urban Designer or a Senior Urban Designer. (Note: candidates with a Master’s degree and 10+ years of directly relevant experience are encouraged to apply and may qualify for a higher position in the company with increased compensation).

  • Intermediate Urban Designer: $75,000 to $95,000, DOE
  • Senior Urban Designer: $95,000 to $120,000, DOE

The firm provides a generous benefits package including hybrid work schedule, an annual bonus, fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, a professional development stipend, and more.

Required Experience / Skills / Education

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in architecture or urban design.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in the planning/urban design field, including master plans or specific plans, zoning codes, form-based codes, general plans, and other planning documents.
  • Knowledge of range of building types including residential and mixed use building
  • Experience using 3-D modeling software (SketchUp, AutoCAD, etc.).
  • Experience with graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite), ArcGIS, and policy documents is a plus but not required.
