November 5, 2015 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Millennium Biltmore Hotel Downtown LA
In November 2015, the Society for American City and Regional Planning History (SACRPH) will bring its national conference to Los Angeles for the first time in its 16-year history. More than 400 planning historians, academics and history buffs from around the world will participate in the 2015 meeting at the historic Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown LA. “Redevelopment Through the Rear View Mirror,” a retrospective and prospective evaluation of redevelopment in Los Angeles, will launch the conference with walking tours, lectures, and an exhibition focused on downtown’s transformation. Other conference events will include walking and bus tours around Los Angeles County; gala receptions at the Los Angeles Central Library and other downtown sites; a host of sessions, lectures, and informal gatherings addressing both historic and new planning projects; and a bookstore featuring the finest in historical and peer-reviewed books, journals and periodicals. Sponsorships are available at a variety of price points and benefit levels. To learn more, contact David Sloane atdsloane@usc.edu. Individuals wishing to submit papers for presentation at the conference can learn more at the Society’s web site. Proposals must be received by February 15, 2015.
