Job Description

Planning Intern (Unpaid)

The Planning Intern will assist on projects that will vary and provide an interesting combination of responsibilities in the fields of planning, zoning, and urban design. Duties will include and can range from conducting statistical analyses, research, surveys and special studies, researching permit history, data entry into a database, preparing recommendations, reports and documents in relation to departmental issues, assisting planners with assigned projects and topics, communicating with the public at the front counter, via email, and via phone, routing plans and reports to other departments, scanning and categorizing documents and organizing files. A Bachelor’s Degree in urban planning or a related field is required. Currently enrolled student in Junior or Senior standing in the urban planning is also acceptable.  Previous municipal agency experience is desirable.
