The Los Angeles Region Planning History Group is hosting a free Zoom colloquium on Saturday, November 14 on the topic of housing. Starting with the historical antecedents of today’s housing crisis throughout the cities and unincorporated communities of Los Angeles County and moving into strategies and solutions for managing the housing crisis now and in the future, this event features a “Who’s Who” of planning scholars and practitioners.

The Los Angeles Region Planning History Group is a 501(c)3 organization established in 1984 with a mission to conserve and archive significant and milestone planning documents prepared in any jurisdiction throughout Los Angeles County; prepare oral histories of notable planners, engineers, and developers that have affected land use and community building throughout Los Angeles County; and conduct public lectures, symposia and colloquia on the history of land use planning matters to educate and stimulate the use of “lessons learned” for practice today and tomorrow. In partnership with the Huntington Library, the Los Angeles Region Planning History Group has hosted colloquia annually on the Huntington grounds. This free event is the Group’s first to be conducted online.
