Attn Students: National Planning Conference in San Diego 4/30-5/3
The planning profession is reshaping the future of our communities when it comes to housing, transportation, climate change mitigation, community development, historic preservation, land use regulations, natural resource planning, economic development, and urban design.
This spring, the American Planning Association (APA) will host the largest gathering of planning and design professionals in San Diego, April 30–May 3, and online May 18–20.
This conference experience is designed with the young professional in mind. While at the conference you will have access to active professional planners, forge strategic relationships, and discover new opportunities.
For those new to the planning profession, learn from industry thought-leaders about the tools and resources you need to get started.
Join us for sessions that are relevant across the full spectrum of career paths.
Registration for APA student members is $135. If you are not already a student member of the APA, learn how to join for free. Registered students will be emailed about paid volunteer opportunities at the conference which can help offset the cost of attendance (first come, first served). Students are also encouraged to reach out to their local chapter for scholarship and funding opportunities (San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange County, Inland Empire).
A free Orientation Tour will be available for students registered for the San Diego conference. This tour–designed exclusively for students — will be held on Sunday, May 1 and will depart at 1:30 p.m. from the convention center, returning at 4:30 p.m. This event is free to the first 100 student attendees that come to the student lounge in the APA Hub on Saturday, from 10–11 a.m. Tickets will be distributed after
verifying student status.
